Dyani Robles Born and raised in Portland, Max Leone started composing his own material at a young age. He knew music was what he wanted to make a career out of after attending a Jack Johnson concert. He further pursued this dream by attending the well-known Berklee College of Music. He took his leave from the college and moved to Los Angeles to devote his full attention to his music. Shortly after, he signed with Darkroom Records and released his first single "First Grade" in January 2020. He is now back with his first EP titled "Malleable". With a combination of his velvet voice and experimental beats, he graces listeners ears with a new experience as they journey through the entire album. When asked about what kind of legacy he would like to leave, Max expressed that he would like to be an artist that is always honest and always true to himself. His listeners can already see this vulnerable side of him as his music pulls from his own experiences. As we live in a world of screens and facades, Max sets to break that barrier and showcase a less picture perfect reality that can be more relatable to his audience. I feel like the idea of a genre is becoming more and more abstract. I'm always trying to think of new words to put before "pop" because there are all these different versions of pop we have created and I feel like just moving forward, the idea of genres just kind of fade more and more. Everyone has their own individual qualities in the "Alt-pop" space and containing one artist into a singular genre like that is probably not going to be around for much longer. In the future, Max hopes to collaborate with musical geniuses such as Frank Ocean. Who Max refers to as one of the most creative artists of this generation. Max's music pulls from many different genres, blurring the lines between the set genres we know today. The nine tracks featured in this EP definitely embody this idea of a "genre-less" artist.
