Ilanna Schlehuber Although three years have passed since their last solo visit to the US, Everglow gave a fresh and electrifying performance at the New Haven stop of their All My Girls Tour. Members Sihyeon, E:U, Mia, Onda, Aisha and Yiren hit the stage, showing their fans, ‘Forever’, various sides of themselves. Kicking things off with powerful and catchy singles “First” and “Slay”, the girls made their mark early on. After group and individual introductions, both of which garnered roaring cheers, Everglow maintained their energy moving into the subsequent performances. “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” was followed by the funky “Don’t Speak” which included moments reminiscent of classic 80s pop hits. A highlight of the night was the massively popular “Dun Dun”, where fans made sure to sing every line in unison with the members. Throughout the night, Everglow showed their powerfully in sync dancing with tracks like “Bon Bon Chocolat” and “Player”. Even with member Aisha in an arm cast, the girls never lost the fire they had at the beginning of the show. They made sure to give fans a bit of everything with slowed down moments from “Hush” and “Back Together”. The girls showed their passion for performing through various vocal and dance covers including Mia dancing blindfolded to “I Shot Cupid” by Stela Cole. You’ll be sure to hear K-pop favorites during this part of the night but, you’ll have to attend a show to experience it for yourself! It became evident how unique the group’s music is as the show went on with them switching from covers to original hits. The sextet has a distinctively punchy-pop sound that gives them that Everglow flair. Using chairs to dance to “Moon”, standalone mics redolent of Motown girl groups, and plastic balls thrown out to fans, the girls made sure to give Forever a show to remember. As they said their goodbyes in their individually cut All My Girls Tour T-shirts, fans shouted encouraging messages at the members. Forever would never be able to tell three years had passed since the group’s last solo tour as their enthusiasm never faltered. Everglow gave the audience a night to remember and undoubtedly deserved the cheers they received. The group has a plethora of stops left but with Forever, Everglow will continue to shine during this tour.
