South Korea has long been a powerhouse for producing globally recognized, incredibly talented artists. Yet, amidst the sea of established stars and emerging talent, it’s easy to miss the next big name—or in this case, names!

Enter the world of EID with AVN and PAAK. EID, which stands for “Echoes in Dream,” is a rising creative collective based in Seoul, South Korea whose artistry, vision, and undeniable charisma are poised to leave a lasting impression. Their vision is to turn the sounds in dreams into music, and produce scenes from dreams into videos.

The B.E.L.U. Lineup had the privilege of discovering this dynamic label and chatting with them about their new artistic journey, and trust us, they’re not one to overlook.

This interview has been edited for clarity and brevity.

  1. Hello AVN and PAAK! Thank you so much for taking the time to sit and chat with The B.E.L.U. Lineup. We are thrilled to have you! Could you please take a moment to say hello and introduce yourself to our B.E.L.U. Lineup readers?
    1. AVN: Hello everyone! I’m AVN from EID. Nice to meet you guys! Our label, EID, is based in Seoul, and it stands for Echoes In Dream. I’m 22 years old and a junior in college majoring in English. I’ve been making music for about 2 years now, and I founded EID about 6 months ago. Again, it’s a pleasure to meet you!
    2. PAAK: Hello everyone! I go by the name of PAAK. I am 24 years old, and I debuted in September of 2023. I make R&B music and specialize in Afrobeats. This is a very uncommon genre in South Korea, but I actually majored in African culture so the genre came naturally to me. I’m one of the artists under EID and it is a pleasure to meet you all!

  1. You are both emerging artists in the music scene. Could you share with us what influenced you to pursue music as a career?
    1. AVN: Music has always been my dream since I was like 15. It just feels like destiny. When I listen to music or even if I just think of music, my endorphins go crazy! It’s something that comes natural to me and I am able to enjoy it so much that it never feels like a job. Music keeps me going and it motivates me to be a better artist and a good founder for EID.
    2. PAAK: It’s been a very personal journey for me. I grew up as a nervous kid and very awkward. I still kind of am haha. But growing up as an awkward kid who didn’t fit anywhere made me listen to a lot of music to cope with my feelings in the past. I was very into R&B and Rap music. As I grew older, I realized that I just really wanted to make music. I started writing my own lyrics when I was 13 as a joke, and writing grew on me so then I began recording my own music at 18 years old. I made a few songs and I started posting them on SoundCloud. You can’t look now! They were really bad so I deleted them haha! Surprisingly, the algorithm sent my music to AVN and he reached out saying “Hey! I am starting a collective called EID. Would you like to join me and make music?” We talked about a lot of things, our ideas, and I really liked AVN’s vision so I ended up joining. I’ve been making music ever since.

  1. Do you have a particular theme you want to deliver across your music, or is that something that you are still exploring as you develop your artistry?
    1. AVN: This is something that I am still working on. Right now I am writing about my feelings as an artist and my passion for music. PAAK does have a message and he is going to share it with you all.
    2. PAAK: I don’t know why he just tossed that question to me, haha! Well, my personal message comes from my current situation and the genre that I have chosen to perform. I have very strong feelings of approval, desire, money, things that I want to become. I want to become successful. I want to become a millionaire. I depict the things that I really really want in my future self. The genre I’ve chosen to perform is very unique and it could be quite difficult to create music that goes global. Yet, I want to prove to the people in the world that there’s this one team in the small country of South Korea that can make music of many many genres and just blow your mind.

  1. Every artist finds inspiration in their musical idols or peers. Are there any artists who have influenced your creative approach to making music?
    1. AVN: DPR Live! DPR is like a hero for us. I grew up with DPR’s music, Live, Ian, Cream. Every time I saw their movement, their collaboration when making music, and their incredible videos, it was insane to me! They are my inspiration until this day. Actually, DPR is a huge source of inspiration, not only to me, but to my whole team. We all look up to them and believe that, one day, we could be just like them ot even bigger than them!
    2. PAAK: I do so many different things, so my idols change a lot. Back when I was making contemporary art and stuff, I really looked up to Chris Brown, Tory Lanez, and Bryson Tiller. Those guys that you listen to when you’re making love or when you’re driving at night. They are the reason I started writing music, but these days my idol is Burna Boy. His energy, his sound, his positive mottos, and his ability to make cool albums truly inspires me.

  1. This might be a trick question that connects to my previous one, but are there any artists or producers you dream of collaborating with in the future?
    1. AVN: DPR Live! I’m sorry I gave the same answer haha.
    2. PAAK: I would really like to collaborate with Burna Boy at some point in my life. That’s on my bucket list.

  1. AVN, can you tell us a little bit about your latest collaborative project MINIONZ?
    1. AVN: Oh! MINIONZ is an album that we made about 8 months ago. Those songs are our own files and it was a little production that we did with Lydia Ganada, P4BLO, and Shane. We had a lot of fun with it. We actually recently signed with Universal Music Korea so we are going to have a lot more projects coming out very soon.

  1. This interview was rather short and we are on to our last question. Is there anything we have left out that you would like to share with your fans?
    1. AVN & PAAK: Thank you so much for having us! EID has a lot of exciting music coming up and possible live performances next year so please wait for us and show us a lot of support!

We’re excited to see what’s next for EID in 2025 and wish them all the best on their journey! Until then, don’t miss EID’s latest releases, “Just Like You” and “Bouquet,” now streaming on all major music platforms. Stay connected with EID through their socials:
