[Concert Review] EVNNE Connects with New York Fans During Their First US Tour, “Ride with EVNNE”

New York City is known for its symphony of sounds, from the honking of cars to the chatter on the streets. But on August 11th, a new sound resonated through the city—the electrifying performance of seven immensely talented boys who finally met their fans after their debut in 2023. This group was none other than EVNNE, a seven-member South Korean boy band. The lineup includes KEITA, PARK HANBIN, LEE JEONGHYEON, YOO SEUNGEON, JI YUNSEO, MUN JUNGHYUN, and PARK JIHOO, who first captured the public’s attention on the popular K-pop survival show, “BOYS PLANET.”

From blocks away, the line of fans waiting to enter the venue was visible, proudly holding the group’s light sticks and other fan-made items. As fans filled the venue, the excitement was palpable. The wait ended when the boys took the stage, performing five tracks from their latest album, *RIDE or DIE.* The energy in the room was electric and unwavering. Since this was not just any tour but a showcase, the boys took the time to engage with the audience, answering fans’ questions. They sang happy birthday, performed choreography from their discography as well as popular songs like “SUPERNOVA” by Aespa and “Walk” by NCT 127, and showcased their powerful vocals in response to fan requests.

The group demonstrated exceptional crowd interaction skills. Whenever possible, the members would break out into dance, song, or small conversations with fans, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere that underscored the strong connection they share with their supporters. The word of the night was “Period,” echoing from both the group and the fans countless times. As they concluded the Q&A portion of the show, the boys shared that the most enjoyable part of tour preparation was practicing different choreography elements they believed fans would love. They then delivered a mix of sweet and powerful performances, including the first-ever live renditions of “XO” and “Pretty Thing.”

The night ended on a high note, with EVNNE giving fans an encore to cap off an already unforgettable show. The love between EVNNE and their fans, ENNVE, was evident through their interactions. Witnessing this group deliver such a memorable performance so early in their career only reaffirms that their talents know no bounds, and great success surely awaits them in the future.
