South Korean Boy Group Monsta X announced in April that their newest mini album, “Fantasia X” is set to release on May 26th, 2020. This would be the groups first Korean comeback after the departure of their beloved member Wonho in addition to the success of their Billboard charting Album, “All About Luv”.

Earlier this year, Monsta X had made waves when their song ‘From Zero’ had reached number one on the Billboard Digital Song Sales Chart. With this achievement under their belts and their continuous international growth, the group became a hot topic among the South Korean general public who are curious of what they will achieve next.

For people that are unfamiliar with the K-pop comeback process, groups go through a series of promotions to prepare fans for their upcoming release. From member trailers to concept photos, these are some of the tools used to get their fans talking and excited about the album. This process can occur twice a year for some groups.

Monsta X released one minute trailer videos that showcased each member leaving fans questioning and theorizing about how this album relates to past projects.
As the comeback schedule progressed, individual and group concept photos as well as the track list were released only furthering the fans anticipation.
The track list consisted of seven songs, ‘Fantasia’, ‘Flow’, ‘Zone’, ‘Chaotic’, ‘Beautiful Night’, ‘It Ain’t Over’, and ‘Stand Up’. Members Jooheon and I.M reprised their roles as writers for the songs on this album. From their debut until now, these two have been the powerhouses behind most if not all of the groups songs in Monsta X’s discography.

On May 4th, Monsta X announced via Twitter that their member and leader Shownu would be taking a break from activities due to back pain. This unforeseen event postponed the groups comeback as the company took the right steps to ensure the safety of their artist (as they should).
The group has already sold over 51K album through preorders and their sales show no signs of slowing down. Along with this comeback, the group is also preparing to embark on their fourth world tour. Although there is no official statement, the tour that was suppose to start in June will be postponed until the current COVID-19 pandemic is under control.
Monsta X has shown not only their fans but the world that through adversities and hardships they will continue on, making music, reaching new heights in their career, and following their dreams. Many fans can attest to the work ethic of Monsta X. Coming up on their fifth anniversary as a group, Monsta X has only began to show the world what they are capable of.
